Thoughts while at the beach
October 25th, 2008Today I was walking along a secluded beach for several hours at one of the National Parks in Grand Cayman. It gave me a lot of time to think. About how peaceful life can be. About how as people we tend to overcomplicate some things. Sometimes simpler is better. Looking back at all of the different projects I’ve had and how I’ve tried to monetize the internet… from launching a PPC search engine, to launching my own private label herbal product line, to other failed ventures… to wild successes. But what has often earned me the most money was the simplest of concepts. Websites with unique ideas. I would pay a designer $100 to launch the website, throw 5 pages of content on that website, and the website could then be gold. The simpler the better.
I will be posting more on this later. But remember, you dont need a complicated concept to strike it rich. You need a unique idea and a unique approach. Or else you can go the opposite direction and see what is all ready successful and doing well and just duplicate it. Both methods are valid. Of course if you duplicate something that is all ready there the competition will be fierce but that can be ok if you can improve on it.
I will provide some examples of these simple concepts later on.
